Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scan
What is an MRI Scan?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses powerful magnetic fields, radiofrequence waves and advanced computer technology to produce images of human internal organs, bones and tissues.
PET-CT Scan
What is a PET-CT Scan?
Positron emission tomography (PET-CT) is an advanced functional medical imaging technology. Through the injection of radioisotope drugs, the whole body is scanned and examined in order to obtain morphological and metabolic data. Currently, PET-CT is one of the most reliable imaging modality in cancer detection and staging work-up for cancer patients.
Patient Preparations
Information for People Undergoing MRI Examinations
MRI is a safe examination without any radiation. Patients do not need to prepare for most of the examinations. However, because of the strong magnetic field in the scan room, certain conditions may preclude you from having an MRI examination. Please alert our staff if one or more of the following conditions may be applicable to you.

Pregnancy
Claustrophobia
History of renal failure
Tattoos or permanent cosmetics

After a thorough pre-scan evaluation, our staff will notify you if you can have the examination. If necessary and possible, we may modify the scanning protocol for your special conditions.

For MRCP, patient should cease eating and drinking at least 4 hours prior to the examination.
